What size loaf pan? 8x4 1/2 or 9X5? Big difference in volume.

Probably the smaller pan, but who knows with cup/volume measurements. Dip and sweep? Spoon and sweep? Either will result in material differences in flour.

It's 2023, Food52. Your writers need to produce baking recipes using weights and not 1950's volume measurements. $50 or less will buy an accurate digital scale -- less money than you sell a bundle of kitchen towels for.

Ok, but the recipe is from 2015.

You might be shocked to know that scales were available in 2015, and they were even more reasonably priced back then.

Based on the photo and the amount of flour, I’d go with the 8x4.5 pan.
