What to use instead of mayo in this recipe?

Hi! I want to cook this recipe (https://tastesbetterfromscratch.com/tomato-pie/) for mother's day breakfast but my mom doesn't like mayonnaise. Is there something I could use instead?

The way the may is used in this recipe, I'd be surprised if it's a dominant flavor, especially if, as Nancy says, you increase the yogurt and decrease the mayo.

Whatever you do, good luck and Happy Mother's Day!

Agree.

But if the guest of honor REALLY doesn’t like it. So maybe best to omit.

Since the mayo is used half and half with yogurt, one possible replacement is just more yogurt.

On the other hand, the mayo (which is mostly fat) will have given flavor and good mouth-feel to the dish. And more yogurt won't supply those.

To restore the rich taste the mayo gave, use a few tablespoons (more or less, to taste) of some good fat your mother likes and that will go with the rest of the dish...
* olive oil (given the tomato-basil-cheeses profile)
* butter (melted and cooled to room temp before adding)
* other fat you have on hand.
