Maria - this is a lovely dessert- definitely make it! On size, there are a few options. If you have a small (about a cup) ovenproof bowl, bake the extra batter in that, while making most of it in your 1.8 qt dish. Or, if no extra ovenproof dish, reduce the recipe to 2/3 of the original. Which will fit in your dish and still serve about 5 people. Last, if you need to make it all (to serve 8) divide the recipe in half and bake the two portions in your dish in sequence.
