Beans going for 5 days still safe?

Hi all. I have had a lot of mixed beans and smoked pork going in the slow cooker for 5 days now. And they have been awesome. They have stayed on low and have remained warm the whole time. I’ve shared sone and eaten them myself for the three previous days. I kept adding new beans as I went so the pot has always stayed full. Is there any risk at eating these at 5 days or should I throw them out?? Thanks!

I think keeping food for a long time will cause the substances to change, maybe it won't be good

Ogsurfer -

I think your instincts/worries are correct.

But food52 (though it has some food scientists as members) is not a health and safety site.

Check with some accredited and responsible authority - university home economics (or whatever today's label is), cooking school, county extension - for best and up to date info.

One link that may be of help -
