Slow roasting lamb shoulder roast. Smaller then recipe

Following the recipe calls for a 6 lb roast I’m cooking a 3 lb one. Do I still cook at 300 degrees for 3 or 4 hours. Or do I reduce the time I slow roast?

I would use a meat thermometer to determine how done you want the meat to be.
