How do I make a coconut pie and make it more creamy/custard like?

My Mom made hers this way and she passed before I learned the secret. I have her handwritten recipe and the only thing I can see different is that she cooked if for only 30mins. Could that be it?

Beverly- I'm late to the game but wondering the ingredients that it uses. Is it a baked pie or a custard pie that you make the filling on the stovetop? That would give me a better idea how to troubleshoot some of the issues you are having!

Yes. Do not overcook. Follow Mom's recipe to the letter and you'll be okay.
