Large beef tenderloin prepare all or freeze?

This expensive piece of meat I purchased is much too large for the amount of people coming to dinner. Is is already trimmed and tied. I want to do the best thing because it was so much money!

Agree with 702551 to freeze! Not sure how much you have extra, but it could also be worth slicing into medallions so you can cook a few individually for multiple dinners.

For me there is no question that I would freeze a portion of the uncooked raw meat for future use.

Defrosted cooked beef is a decidedly unimpressive thing unless it is in a stew, chili, soup, etc. And those dishes would have chuck (shoulder) not tenderloin.

If you freeze cooked beef tenderloin, you are probably tossing 75% of your dollars into the trash.

Your call.

Thank you for answering. I did what you said and froze a portion of the uncooked roast for another time. I appreciate your time.
