Recommendations for a Corn Syrup Substitute

Does anyone have a recommendation for a corn syrup substitute for this recipe? Unfortunately I have a corn allergy.

I substitute w/ Lyle's Golden Syrup.  It has a bit of a caramel flavor.

More possibilities- agave, honey, brown rice syrup, treacle.

If any sweet syrup could do, consider molasses, maple or Lyle’s golden syrup.
