When brewing decaf coffee with a drip coffee maker, it’s important to use the right coffee-to-water ratio to achieve the best flavor. Be sure to measure the coffee grounds accurately, as too much can result in a bitter taste, while too little can make it weak. Additionally, freshly ground decaf coffee can make a noticeable difference in the taste, so grind it just before brewing for the best results. Enjoy your smooth, flavorful cup of decaf coffee!

It’s also a good idea to pour it in to an insulated carafe rather than letting it sit on the warmer.

You make coffee in a drip pot and lately it’s turning out bitter.

But it’s unlikely the pot is the cause.

Causes can be - fineness of grind, water temp, length of time in extraction, etc.

Look at a site called beanbox.com (or other coffee site you trust) for more details about how to analyze the cause(s) of the bitterness and how to eliminate it.
