Butter quantity? I would say a range. Minimum - enough to coat, when melted, the bottom of your baking pan. More to taste - for more flavor. And if your guests are happy with more.
Another thought. If you use more than the minimum of butter, you could cook it a few minutes on the stovetop in your ovenproof pan, to make it brown butter - for more flavor.
Then add the beaten eggs and proceed witht he recipe. Enjoy!
