I’m looking for the Black Forest cake recipe in Joy of Cooking cookbook that I don’t have anymore. Does anyone have this recipe and can you share?
I don’t know which issue it is in.

I have a Joy of Cooking cookbook from the '70's but it's not listed.
There is a great recipe online at

Cheryl -
Sorry, don't have that recipe.
But i do know a columnist at the Guardian (UK newspaper) who writes a terrific series about variations on classic recipes call "the perfect (name that dish)." In it, she compares various recipes on the major elements in the dish - texture, ingredients, cooking methods, and so on - and then makes her own combined version to get a very good dish.
Her name is Felicity Cloake, and I'm linking her column on Black Forest Cake.
From her descriptions and your taste memory, you may be able to find a recipe very close to the one you used to make. Failing that, maybe her recipe combining the best elements from several cooks and bakers will give you a new starting point.
