Another alternative for the goat cheese in this recipe.

Ill be making this the original way. Sounds good. for people who don't like goat cheese, what would be a good cheese alternative to compliment the grated parmesan?

Hi SDV!

All of the swaps listed below are fantastic suggestions. If you're down to alter the flavor of the dish (in my opinion for the better) you could opt for Boursin. It is a cows based, milder cheese that is creamy yet crumbly like goat cheese. It comes in a variety of flavors; best suited for this dish might be the garlic & herb.

But you could really change things up and add in the balsamic and fig!

Hope this helps!

Cream cheese or sour cream, burrata, anything else that is soft and melty

Another soft cheese - mascarpone. It is rich and delicious and will have - though from different reasons - a tang or sharpness that will work similar to the goat cheese in the recipe.

I might try sour cream in lieu of goat cheese. Another option might be a good grated emmentaler, but I’d likely eliminate the Parmesan if I used that.
