White spots on my defrosted turkey
I just defrosted the turkey (that was bought frozen from the store) and caught these white spots on it.. I have never seen anything like it because they are round and I cannot dismiss them as freezer burns.. anyone has any ideas what this might be and if it is safe to cook and eat?
Because here in Greece it's almost noon and I am losing my Christmas dinner.

Unfortunately, despite the round nature of the spots, these to me do look like freezer burn. Cooking the turkey as is would be totally edible but I would fear the spots with freezer burn would be tough and maybe dull in flavor.
As Nancy recommended, in order to salvage the bird, I would trim off these areas and then cook your turkey as planned.
Hope this helps!

Oh dear!
Haven't encountered these spots myself but did an online search for this problem.
Several sites say the spots come from inadequate freezing or wrapping for the freezer.
They also say it's safe to cook the turkey, though you may want to trim away the white spots as the meat there will be tasteless.
Here's a sample article from USDA (federal Department of Agriculture) which reviews and presibes on many food safety issues.
Merry Christmas!

The spots almost look cooked... There is no bad smell or slime, so I think it is safe to consume the rest of the bird... Properly cooked of course.
We are already trimming the spots away...
Have a wonderful meal, gethering, holiday!
