What is almond paste? Same as almond butter?
Chris is a trusted source on General Cooking
No, not the same. Almond paste is made from blanched almonds and often has some sugar. It's used in marzipan and cooking. Almond butter is made from roasted almonds. It's a lovely alternative to peanut butter.
Agree with above. Are you having trouble finding almond paste for a recipe? I have tried and had no luck. As a substitute, I used marzipan, added crushed almonds, and reduced the sugar in the recipe, and it worked pretty well. Hope this is helpful!
