Can I make basil pesto and freeze it? Has anyone tried oregano or thyme pesto---or is it too cumbersome and strong?

Yes, basil pesto freezes beautifully! To make a freezable paste with oregano and thyme puree 2 cups herbs with 1/3 cup olive oil ....

I freeze basil pesto every year with great results! Have not tried oregano or thyme versions but I think maybe temper them with something - maybe spinach for the oregano, arrugula for the thyme? They are both strong flavors ...
