A question about a recipe: APPLE CLAFOUTI/ APPLE FLAN

I have a question about the ingredient "Calvados (apple brandy)" on the recipe "APPLE CLAFOUTI/ APPLE FLAN" from Waverly. Could you substitute plain brandy for the Calvados? Thanks!

I substitue brandy or cognac for Calvados all the time. Calvados is not cheap to buy. An inexpensive apple brandy named Applejack, is not very good. I would rather use a good brandy or cognac.

I agree with drbabs. Yes, you can use regular brandy. Enjoy!

I don't see why not.
