I have a question about the ingredient "dried valerian root" on the recipe "Dominican Spiced Cider" from alasully. If I can not find it, is there anything I could use instead?

I wouldn't worry too much if you can't find the valerian -- just omit it and maybe throw in some whole cloves to push the flavors that direction.
