To thank our members for their dedication to helping out their fellow cooks, every month we’ll choose a Food52er whose activity on the Hotline has caught our eye, and treat him or her to a $25 gift certificate to Provisions.
Today: See who had the write stuff this month.
We’re pleased to announce that July’s Hotline MVP is Pegeen!
Pegeen is always jumping in to help on the Hotline -- from menu ideas for holiday meals to suggestions for cookware (from griddles to copper pans). She’s kind, and offers creative solutions: When one community member was having trouble making rice, Pegeen suggested aiming for golden-brown rice on purpose, by trying Louisa Shafia’s recipe for tahdig in The New Persian Kitchen. With so many great answers, we're relieved to know that Pegeen's human too -- she's shared a funny side (and a stubborn streak), and occasionally asks questions herself.
And because we know you were wondering (we were too): "Pegeen" is Irish for "Little Peg," in honor of her grandmother, Peggy, who taught her so much about cooking.
Congratulations to Pegeen, and thanks to everyone who participates over on the Hotline -- the community wouldn’t be the same without you.
Want to boost your kitchen karma? We’re looking for enthusiastic participation throughout the month that is helpful, thoughtful, and considerate.
