KatieQ's Best Tips for Cooking with Avocados—All in One Place

July 30, 2015

Inspired by conversations on the Food52 Hotline, we're sharing tips and tricks that make navigating all of our kitchens easier and more fun.

Today: Three speedy avocado recipes from KatieQ that will snap you out of your guac habit.

When I have a bag of heading-South-fast avocados, I usually do one of two things: I put one in my bag and let it roll around for a day or so before pulling it out and making an ad hoc toast lunch, or I mash together a massive batch of guacamole. Not KatieQ: When she has extra avocados lying around, she turns them into fudgy ice pops, or fries, or pesto. Take her lead and try out some of her best tips for putting ripe avocados to use (but if you want some tips for toast or guac, we have those, too). Here are three of our favorite tips of hers, and one new one.
