Our Photographer's Favorite Shot of the Week Has Ice Cream AND Pie

Today in behind-the-scenes: Here's our photographer's favorite shot of the week.

James Ransom has been with Food52 almost since the very beginning—and he was here in the studio this week, making Thanksgiving (and cookies! and more!) happen in his beautiful way. It's a hugely busy time of year (hello, holiday season) in our photography studio, which makes it hard to choose a favorite shot from the week.

But this week, James' favorite photo was of Scoops Ice Cream Pumpkin Pie, a recipe shared by former Food52 editor Brette Warshaw. "First of all," he said, "I liked the concept. My two favorite desserts combined in one." (We hear you on that, James.) He also loved how "the lighting, propping, and colors came together perfectly to make this an image you want to keep looking at."
