What's your least favorite food?
Oysters. I can't handle the texture.
What is the best thing you've made so far this year?
Just a basic T-bone steak that I picked up from the local farmer's market. Cooked it sous-vide and then drowned it butter in my cast iron. Died. Sometimes the most basic meals end up being the best ones.

Describe your most spectacular kitchen disaster.
I had the grand idea of grilling some whole red snappers. I slathered 'em up with olive oil, stuffed 'em with slices of lemon and lots of herbs... It was a thing of beauty. I got a bit too excited and threw it on the grill before I gave it a chance to heat up properly. I also didn't grease up the grill properly. That fish stuck to that grill tighter than a 3-year-old that wants his mommy. After messing with it for a few minutes I realized that this was not going to work out since half of the fish had fallen through the grates and what was left over was basically raw.
What is your idea of comfort food?
A big bowl of cacio e pepe. My mom made it with feta and kashkaval cheese growing up. To die for.
Apron or no apron?
Apron. I need at least 2 towels on my hips. I guess that comes from my line cook days.
What's your favorite food-related scene in a movie?
The scene in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone when Dumbledore says, "Let the feast begin!" and an insane amount of food appears on the long tables. So much food. It's a dream come true. Or any scene in Don Jon when Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Tony Danza are in their white tank tops eating spaghetti.
Who is someone you'd love to cook for, and why?
My grandma. She lives in Israel and I don't get to see her very often. She cooked for me every single day when I lived there for a summer. I would love to repay that favor and show her some love.
Congratulations on the win, Danielle. I'll have to take the others' word for how good your pie is, because tahini is just one of those foods I cannot do..
