All throughout September, our Baking Club members have been cooking through the first Tartine cookbook. We've been struck by the wide variety of beautiful baked goods they're whipping up, but this week we're stuck on the regular and cuter personal-sized galettes they've been making, and now we're reaching for our rolling pins, too.
As pie's less-fussy cousin, galettes have a lot going for them. For starters, you don't need a special pan, a baking sheet will do just fine and there's no need to worry about adorning galettes with fancy edges; they're supposed to be rustic.
Don't worry if you haven't picked up a copy of Tartine yet. We've got 15 sweet and savory galette recipes to satisfy any hankering. Dessert (or dinner!) just got a little easier.
I literally just decided yesterday to do an assortment of galettes, sweet and savory, for an upcoming wedding shower. Kismet! I think this means that you, miss Lindsay-Jean, have to fly down and help me bake?
