Always rinse off poultry!! Remember its the toxins these types of bacteria leave behind that can sicken you, not to mention the raw fecal matter that can be on poultry, cooking will not remove that. If you go by this logic you should never take a shower because you might splash dirt on the shower wall. Do you realize how dangerous these instructions are?

Washing poultry was debunked because there is no benefit. All it does is scatter salmonella around your kitchen.

You do need to clean your TG turkey - just not in the way you think. Splashing this giant unwieldy bird in the sink will certainly spread germs everywhere but if you limit your cleaning to plucking errant feathers and removing excess fat and skin, you're golden.
