A question about a recipe: Meyer Lemon Macarons

I have a question about the ingredient "blanched almonds" on the recipe "Meyer Lemon Macarons" from DolcettoConfections. My friend is allergic to nuts but I still want to make them for her. Is there a substitute that I can use?

Are the allergic to seeds? Maybe blanched pumpkin/sqush seeds, and then soaked in brandy would sub?

I don't think so...almonds are intrinsic to macarons. Maybe try one of the sugar cookie recipes on the site and make them small and sandwich them with the meyer lemon curd?
