Chocolate is goofy sometimes. It could be getting thick because it is old chocolate, or because it has been overcooked, or a number of other reasons. If it looks like cake batter it is overcooked and you should throw it out and start over. If it is just thickening after being off the heat awhile, try microwaving for 10 seconds at a time and stirring very well. Add a small amount of butter to help even it out too. Next time, watch carefully how you melt it to get the best consistency. Good luck!
