My village is currently out of yogurt, would sour cream be a decent replacement for that? Also to make almond meal just grind some up coarse

I have a question about step 1 on the recipe "Almond Cake with Orange-Flower Water Syrup" from amusebouche. It says:

"Preheat oven to 350 F. Butter and flour a 9 x 5 inch loaf pan. Combine eggs, yogurt, 1 cup sugar, oil, and vanilla."

You can certainly use sour cream for this purpose. If it is too thick, add a few tablespoons of water to thin it to yogurt's consistency. Almond meal can be made at home by grinding up slivered almonds (no skins) to a fine (not coarse) powder. Take care not to over process the almonds because it can turn into almond butter. If all you have is whole almonds, you can blanche them in hot water for a few minutes until the skins are wrinkly and easy to remove.
