Make an infused Vodka the way you would with vanilla beans.
Take good-ish vodka (the kind that is fairly cheap, but doesn't taste like something from the medicine cabinet), take about a cup of it, add it to about 2 cups of fresh mashed mint leaves in a caning jar. Shake. Allow to sit for a couple of days in a cool dark place. Shake again. Repeat until desired flavor is reached... from the recipes I've looked at online somewhere between 21 and 30 days.
You want to use peppermint if you want a traditional mint flavor, but other types would be interesting.
