Blanched almonds have the skin removed. You can purchase them already prepared in a store that has a good selection of nuts, or you can do it yourself. Boil for one minute, drain and rinse with cold water until cooled. Pat dry with kitchen towel. The skin will skip off easily with just a pinch, but be careful as the nut can shoot out really quickly, bouncing around your kitchen.
