Strawberries don't bake up very well. Cherries would work just fine.

Yes! The cobbler would be delicious with strawberries or cherries! Or really any stone fruit or berry.

You could also substitute with raspberries, nectarines and plums. Just keep in mind that fruits like strawberries and raspberries will break down more than slightly sturdier fruits like peaches, plums, nectarines, blueberries or even cherries.
