The Boathouse in Central Park. Food is average but it is a *very* pretty place. Don't go on a Saturday or Sunday... wait times are too long.

I love The Lincoln - when we were there last they had a mix and match negroni bar. If you sit at the bar, you have a beautiful view out of the big glass windows. Also, for more casual bistro fare, Cafe Luxembourg is also fantastic.

Another vote for Telepan, one of the city's best farm-to-table restaurants; I like Nice Matin too. Also excellent, but more expensive, are Daniel Boulud's two places across from Lincoln Center, Boulud Sud and Bar Boulud.

Celeste on Amsterdam Ave between 84th and 85th St. The restaurant is a neighborhood institution and always packed. It's' on the casual side and reasonably priced. No reservations and cash only.
