Rye flour measurement in sables?

I'm totally confused here. I thought 2 cups rye flour was about 230 grams, not 2 1/2 cups. I'd like to make these cookies but don't want to add an extra 1/2 c flour to the batter mistakenly. Anyone know which measurement, the grams or cups to use here?
