I have a question about the recipe "Apricot, Date, and Cashew Snack Balls" from Gena Hamshaw. Do you use the Turkish apricots for this or the darker, sour kind?

I think you should use the one you prefer. Personally, I prefer the California dark, tart ones. I know people who prefer the Turkish.
