I have a question about the recipe "Cranberry Sage Pie" from ElsenEM. Can you substitute fresh cranberries for the dried ones that are called for in the recipe?

The recipe already calls for fresh cranberries. The dried ones seem to be in there for texture or eye appeal. You could probably leave them out altogether.
