im making fireball cupcakes. should i use a white cake base or a spice cake base?

I would still use a white cake. Be careful with the sugar since the whiskey is a lot sweeter than water.

By Fireball you mean the cinnamon whiskey? Are you putting it in the frosting? I would use a white cake because the spice would compete too much with the cinnamon flavor

its going more in the cupcake batter itself than in the icing. I will be replacing the water with the whiskey.
