The sugar didn’t dissolve in my cranberry sauce... already chilled it! Can I still fix it?? Help!

I agree with Brinda. Just reheat it on simmer until it gets good & hot. Then let it cool, put it back in the fridge.

Another way to help distribute the sugar. Take a portion of the sauce...maybe all the liquid and 1/4 the berries, buzz it up in a blender or processor and pour back into the sauce.

Hi Becky, happy Thanksgiving! Can you tell me more about the cranberry sauce recipe you are using? Is it a molded kind or a saucier kind? If the latter, I might gently reheat it again to let the sugar completely dissolve. But, let me know what you are working with, and we might have to troubleshoot a different way.

It was just a simple recipe from Ina Garten.

1 3/4 cup sugar
1 cup water
Bag of fresh cranberries
Heat on low until skins break

Add zest and juice of lemon
Add zest and juice of orange
And add 1 green apple chopped
Cook for 15 mins.. I cooked mine for like 25 mins..

Any ideas??

Thanks for the update. Sounds like the saucy kind, which should be pretty simply to fix. If it were me, I would reheat the sauce over low heat for another fifteen or so minutes, stirring well to help the sugar dissolve and adding warm water to maintain the consistency that you like.

Thank you! I’ll try that now!
