Why do you use a cutting board to prepare the biscuits for cutting?

Hello ~ just wondering why there was a cutting board used ~ is it a culinary reason or a space reason? I am very interested to hear. I have mine in the oven baking now ~ my first batch! Can't WAIT!

I find cleanup is easier when I use a cutting board :)

I think force of habit to some extent! I always think of it as cleaner than my counter tops :) I know Carla likes to oil (or oil spray) the board, then rub it with a thin layer of flour, to make the dough less likely to stick, but not leave a lot of loose flour that will get incorporated into the dough.
