Can I use the Barley I used as pie weights?

I used barley as weights for a pie crust this week, and I'm making soup with barley in it this weekend so I'm wondering how the roasted barley would do in my soup. It was in at 475 for about 10 minutes.

Sure you can use the barley. One of the ways to bring out the flavor of grains and add a certain toasty quality is to roast it- which you certainly did.
