TRAHANAS PORRIDGE FOR THE LITTLE ONES

For most of the world's dried starches, the typical serving size for a small portion should be around 40 g and for larger portions ranges from 60 to 80 grams whether it is dried grains (of all types like rice, polenta, oats), dried noodles, etc.
Doing a little sleuthing around on the Internet, it appears that trahanas is traditionally sold in 400 g bags and each serving is 100 g. Thus the recipe should be 200 grams (for 2 servings). Some of the packages for the US market are larger 500 gram quantities but today's Americans ***LOOOOOVE*** to carbo-load and bust their guts.
Note that a typical oatmeal serving is about 40 g (dry). I know my own breakfast oatmeal portions are a smaller 30 g but I always eat something else as well. This recipe is going to produce a whopper of a bowl. Carbo-loading has zero appeal to me so I'm happy with my sub-standard portions of starches.
Best of luck.
According to the above link, trahana is a small pasta, almost like grits, so in this recipe you'd be making something that would resemble a thick gruel or porridge suitable for toddlers.
