What about the other cup of chips?

The ingredients list calls for 2 cups of potato chips, but the directions only say to add 1 cup. The way it's phrased suggests that some quantum of chips will be used elsewhere (otherwise wouldn't the recipe just say "add the potato chips"?). So, where does the second cup come in?

It's 2 cups of chips from the bag, but when you crush them it reduces them to 1 cup. Hope this helps!

Maybe when you crush the two cups of potato chips, it reduces to a little over one cup and she only wants one cup, crushed?
