Yes you can, when lack of fresh peppers or time makes roasting from scratch impossible. I've used them for various dishes - soups, salads, stews. There are good bottled brands out there. Just check the label before you buy and don't accidentally get hot ones, instead of sweet ones (as I recently did with some jarred Italian antipasto). Some stores have frozen cut up sweet peppers - you might check if those are available near you.

But what do you recommend if cook can't find good fresh red pepper in store? Or has jarred at home and can't do a grocery run?
