Has anyone made this vegan? I love the recipe as written but wonder if coconut milk could be used instead... Thanks!

I have not tried to make this particular recipe vegan, but it would need so many changes to do that it would hardly be the same recipe. To answer the question of using coconut milk in place of the heavy cream- yes you could use a full fat version. Or use coconut cream. Then there is the matter of the butter- definitely not vegan. You could opt to use coconut butter or margarine- which is what "vegan butter" is. And finally, Kaluha itself is labeled as not vegan either. Brandy might not be vegan, it depends on if the product was filtered and clarified using gelatin or fish bladders- or other animal origin product. You'd have to research that depending on the brand you wanted to use. There are other recipes to make vegan truffles on the web, though, and perhaps one of them would be a better option for you that using this one and completely altering it to suit your needs.
