We've got some more recommendations to add to this list!
Our Test Kitchen Director Allison Buford likes to gift Erin Jeanne McDowell's "The Fearless Baker" to avid and novice bakers (she discusses it here): https://www.tiktok.com/@food52/video/7295778290759978282
Our "Simply Genius Cookbook" by Kristen Miglore, published last year, won this years IACP award for best general cookbook and is another Food52 favorite: https://food52.com/p/simply-genius-recipes-for-beginners-busy-cooks-curious-people
Finally, one of the all-time favorite cookbooks in our cookbook club (https://www.facebook.com/groups/food52cookbookclu) is "Six Seasons" by Joshua McFadden, who is credited with creating the kale salad (or at least popularizing it) and the "butter board" that went viral years after he included it in his cookbook.
I love Elizabeth David, Jane Grigson, Sophie Grigson, the short stack cookbooks, Bittman, Fannie Farmer, Marion Cunningham, Joy of Cooking. Recently: Eric Kim, Amy Thielen.
CFMCook - just wondering, are you looking for something specific - like new good releases, classics and/or a specific type of cookbook? Or just all good recommendations?
Sunday Suppers at Lucques by Suzanne Goin Jubliee by Toni Tipton Martin Cannelle et Vanille by Aran Goyoaga The Silver Spoon The Silver Spoon by Giovanna Mazzocchi, Clelia D'Onofrio, Phaidon Press
And it's not really a cookbook, but I really like The Flavor Bible which is really helpful to expanding culinary vision and possibilities. If you read French Le répertoire des saveurs by Niki Segnit is also a wonderful treat. Enjoy!
