Can I make this with frozen blueberries?

I see the recipe calls for fresh berries. Can I use frozen blueberries? Would I need to thaw them first or do anything differently?

Bon Appetit seems to think you can! (https://www.bonappetit.com/story/how-to-use-substitute-frozen-fruit-pies-bars-and-muffins) The one thing I would worry about is the interaction of the extra juice the frozen berries will give off and the custard. You may want to toss a touch of cornstarch in with the berries to keep it from getting too swampy.
