Looks like the chili crisp is only used to roast the gnocchi. I would take 1/2 cup of gnocchi out (toddlers don't eat that much) and roast in butter/oil in a separate baking pan or small tray. Everything else is cooked separately and then mixed together at the end. This way, you are not changing the recipe for the rest of the family and the baby gets a mild version without extra prep.
I don’t think kid friendly means that you should eliminate flavors. I think that you should expose children to flavors & let them decide. Perhaps, in lesser degrees & in this case, just reduce the quantity. I always exposed my daughter to every flavor & cousine. Today she is 23 & eats everything. It’s also a teaching moment for children to learn about other cultures.
This dish sounds great, with plenty of other ingredients to give flavor....the olive and sesame oils, the lemon juice, sour cream, scallions and bok choy....even without the chili crisp oil.
To make the dish child-friendly, you could EITHER just omit the chili crisp oil, OR use one or two tablespoons of something that will go with the existing ingredients and that you know (or can ask if) the children prefer. Mushroom, garlic, ginger or even ketchup.
