I'm make this for the 4th. Can't wait to try. Can I actually make this 2-3 days ahead without the basil and walnuts?

Yes, you can make the dish 2-3 days ahead without the basil and walnuts. Prepare the base and store it in the fridge. Add fresh basil and walnuts just before serving to maintain their flavor and texture.

Hi Lesa! One of my favorite things about this salad is the crispy potatoes, and unfortunately you lose that crispiness after a day or so. Happy cooking!

Shannon is right. Any dish that is refrigerated for a day or two is going to lose its crispiness regardless of whether it's this particular dish or pretty much anything else.

This is why your local McDonald's didn't make 100 lbs. of fries three days ago to serve them to order.
