A knife with a story.
This is a cheese knife that's been places and seen things. Chelsea Miller, daughter of a blacksmith and carpenter, hand-forges each knife from farrier tools (or in layman's terms, the tools that blacksmiths use to make horseshoes). The high carbon steel blade looks rustic and lived-in, and some even retain the rasp of the original filing tools from which they were fashioned. The hand-carved handle is made from pieces of lovingly-foraged wood from Miller's father's Vermont farm. You'll feel the weight of each unique knife's story every time you slather brie onto a baguette.
If you've never had the pleasure of owning carbon steel knives, make sure to read the care instructions that come with the knives carefully -- such beautiful blades require different handling than stainless steel to maintain their luster.
