The Fall Cookbook Cake Parade

Catch Up on the Penultimate Week of The Fall Cookbook Cake Parade

October 22, 2016

Completely by coincidence (what does this say about us?), this week in the Fall Cookbook Cake Parade—where we post a new cake from a new fall cookbook every day—included cakes with carrot, sweet potato, zucchini, beans, and pumpkin. And they were all better for it.

Here's a look back at week 1's and week 2's cakes, and be sure to check back in next week: It's the last week of the cake parade (sniff), and boy is it a good one.

Monday: Carrot-Ginger Black Sesame Loaf

"Loaf" might sound humble, until you see the Halloween-ready one in Everything I Want to Eat by Sqirl's Jessica Koslow.

Tuesday: Chocolate Chicory Cake

An oddball cake from 1930s America (and The Short Stack Cookbook).

Wednesday: Pumpkin Cakes (Nan Gua Bing)

These red bean-filled, deep-fried, crispy-gooey pumpkin cakes from Land of Fish and Rice by Fuchsia Dunlop have nothing to do with Halloween.

Thursday: School-Party Sheet Cake

A chocolate cake with (delicious, vegetal) secrets, from Better Baking.

Friday: Brown Butter Honey Tea Cake

Certainly not your basic tea loaf.

Don't miss a single cake in our Fall Cookbook Cake Parade. See them all here!
