The 50 Recipes You Loved Most in 2016

December 21, 2016

This year's list of the recipes you turned to the most was partly surprising, partly totally expected:

  • No surprise: You love sweets and pasta (but then again, we give you a lot of recipes for them. This is a good friendship, isn't it?)
  • Our #1 most viewed recipe of the year was... drumroll... a chicken recipe!. Shocker (just kidding).
  • You also really, really like vegetarian recipes.
  • Speaking of, chickpeas are the sleeper hit of 2016. Dare we call them sexy.

Here are the 50 recipes that got the most attention this year (meaning, you favorited, saved, and commented on them a whole bunch):

pasta pasta pasta

chickpeas please

pass the vegetarian dishes

okay, chicken too

and one fishy

you like breakfast

But baking, especially

and 2 other sweets, too (that'd be good together!)

Tell us: What recipe did you love the most this year?

These were my fave 2016 Food52 recipes according to my favorites in my account: Stir-Fried Cabbage with Creamy Peanut Sauce, Chicken Legs in Tomato Gravy, and Slow Cooker Chicken Parmesan Soup.

I thought the Double Vanilla Butter Cake was the bomb this year. I made it often and passed it along to a number of people who also made it often. It was my favorite Food52 recipe this year along with the No-Knead Sandwich Bread recipe, which I cut in half and made all the time, one loaf at a time, in a Lodge loaf pan. It makes GREAT sandwiches and excellent toast - a real keeper.

Interesting list. But since you don't count number of saves on the community posted recipes, those don't get included. Wouldn't "favorited" recippes be a better factor?

Hi ChefJune: We took favoriting, saving, and commenting into account to come up with this list. Hope this helps.

Pinning, too, I hope.
