Removing marinade from roast?

My husband won a boneless rib roast at a meat raffle (yes, that really is a thing). It came pre-marinated. Any suggestions on how to remove this? Can I just soak it in water?

You can rinse it off, but to some extent a bit of the marinade will have permanently penetrated and flavor the meat. You will never get it back to its raw, plain state.
