amount of oil

recipe calls for 3 tablespoons of olive oil 2 of which for the cooking. Am I to assume that I use the remaining one for the marinade. Just want to be clear

Haven't made this recipe, but generally find Patricia Wells interesting and reliable.
Another version of the recipe (the internet is your friend when you need to clarify something vague in a recipe) shows 5 tbsp olive oil, 3 used for the marinade and 2 for the sauteing.
(Maybe something got lost in the transcription.)
